Take Precautions When Signing a Real Estate Contract In Korea!
Review the Contract
Before signing any contracts, be sure to verify that the landlord listed on the agreement matches the actual property owner. This can be done by cross-checking the information on the Corporation Register and the written contract.
Inspect the Property
Check for any mold, assess the condition of windows and doors, and discuss any optional furniture with the landlord. Request repairs as needed and make sure to include these details in the contract.
Register Your Move-In
Register your new address with the community service center to protect your deposit.
Change of Residence Report
Update your residency information after signing the contract.
Rewrite the Contract
If you plan on staying in Korea for more than 90 days, you'll need to obtain an Alien Registration Card and update your contract accordingly.
